TEST #2: le 28 février
Topics: l'imparfait, le passé composé (in relation to l'imparfait), le passé récent, la négation. There will be a reading section on the test with comprehension questions and students will also have to read a short paragraph to the teacher for pronunciation. |
Many parents have expressed concerns about lower than usual marks on the recent French test. I want to assure you that, while I never want my students to do poorly, it is very typical for this first test to prove challenging. In grade 8, late French immersion students make the jump from beginners French in grade 7 to a more advanced level that strongly incorporates written application of the second language. Overall, I am pleased with the 3 classes results. I have gone over with students where they made mistakes and also how to figure out what they didn't understand.
